What a Peptide Sheet Mask Actually Does in 15 Minutes
A sheet mask is more than a self-care ritual. Here's what's happening while it's on, and how to choose the right one for your skin.
A sheet mask looks simple: a piece of fabric soaked in serum. What makes it work is the fabric. It holds the serum against your skin and slows evaporation, so your skin stays in contact with the formula for longer than it would with a quick pat-on serum.
Why 15 minutes
Most masks are designed for 10 to 20 minutes. Leave one on too long and the sheet starts drying out, which can pull moisture back out of your skin. Fifteen minutes is a comfortable middle.
Picking the right mask
ProGlow's microfiber masks each pair a peptide with supporting ingredients for a specific concern.
| Mask | Built around | Made for |
|---|---|---|
| Acne Treatment | LL-37 peptide, salicylic acid, niacinamide | Breakouts and congested skin |
| Anti-Wrinkle | SNAP-8 peptide complex | Expression lines |
| Firming & Sculpting | GHK-Cu copper peptide | Skin that looks less firm |
| Calming | KPV peptide | Redness and irritation |
How to use one
Start with clean, dry skin.
Unfold the mask and line up the eye and mouth openings first.
Smooth it outward from the centre of your face to push out air bubbles.
Relax for 15 minutes.
Remove the mask and press the leftover serum into your skin. Don't rinse it off.
The serum left in the pouch is the same formula. Use it on your neck and the backs of your hands.
How often
Two to three times a week works for most people. If your skin is having a rough week, a calming mask on consecutive nights is fine.
The best mask is the one matched to what your skin needs right now, so it's worth keeping two or three on hand.
